The Chief Strategist: Trump, the Oil situation and PMIs

Currency-, interest rate- and oli strategist Jan Bylov, gives a brief summary of the most important events on the financial events this week:
  • No doubt from Trump ahead of mid-teerm elections: Trump continues to put tariffs on Chinese goods, which continues the trade tensions with China. It confuses the markets. The big question is whether Trump will find a solution before the mid-term election, otherwise it may have an effect on it.
  • Oil price heading higher: Oil production has fallen. Therefore prices rise. The supply situation is pointing to the rest of this year and on its way into next year due to special US sanctions towards Iran.
  • Business cycle indicators from Euroland - PMIs are expected to stabilize.
