The Senior Strategist: US job data brightens market mood

The ECB meeting took a lot of focus last week. Traders had expected the European Central Bank president, Mario Draghi, to announce some sort of plan. But he didn't offer any concrete new measures to help Europe's economy.

But finally we got some good news on the employment front. The US economy created a solid 163.000 jobs in July.

Several U.S. companies turned in strong earnings reports on Friday.
